Gertura Gbarbo is the Program Coordinator at HVK Children’s Foundation. Gertura holds a bachelor degree in Public Health from Worcester State University. She currently works as a health educator at Aids Project Worcester. Early childhood education would have been an unreachable goal for Gertura had there not been organizations in Worcester, MA that addressed the needs of children from a low-income background. However, with help from various agencies that worked with students to meet their educational needs, she was able to complete primary school and later obtained a bachelor’s degree within four years. Much like the organizations that address the needs of children from low-income thresholds here in the USA, Gertura is happy that HVK Children’s Foundation is on the right path to transforming the lives of children in Liberia who might share a similar story.
